John F. Collins, President & CEO of Winthrop-University Hospital, was recently honored with the Paragon Award for his exceptional leadership in the fight against breast cancer at the First Annual Long Island Breast Cancer Summit. The Summit, sponsored by Long Island Plastic Surgical Group, PC, brought together hundreds of breast cancer advocates and dozens of support groups to learn about the latest innovations and medical discoveries in breast cancer treatment, along with new legislation and services provided by federal, state and county governments.
In addition, Frank A. Monteleone, MD, Chief of the Division of Breast Services at Winthrop, was among those honored at the event as a Healing Hero for the tremendous contributions he has made to women’s health as a respected breast surgeon.
