Christopher and Amanda Wood to Host 2015 Event - Set for December 5th
It may only be July, but that doesn’t mean it’s too early to be thinking about the holiday season. Preparations are already underway for Winthrop-University Hospital’s Yuletide Ball, an elegant evening of fine dining, dancing and fundraising in support of the Child Life Program at The Children’s Medical Center at Winthrop. This year, the event will be held at the Garden City home of Christopher and Amanda Wood on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 7:00 p.m.
As strong believers in the mission of Winthrop-University Hospital’s Child Life Program, we are honored to be hosting this year’s Yuletide Ball,” said the Woods. “Like many in the Winthrop community, we have experienced the unique comfort the Program provides to children and their families. We look forward to opening our home to friends and neighbors in support of this extremely worthwhile cause.”
Thanks to the efforts of dedicated supporters in the community, Winthrop’s Yuletide Ball has raised more than two million dollars in support of the Hospital’s Child Life Program, which is dedicated to helping children understand and cope with the hospital experience. Certified Child Life Specialists utilize therapeutic play, arts and crafts, entertainment and other diversions to ensure that the hospital experience is as stress-free as possible for children and their families.
