- Winthrop-University Hospital Names Reese Wain, MD, Chief of Vascular Surgery

Mineola, NY − Winthrop-University Hospital is pleased to announce that Reese Wain, MD, has been named Chief of the Division of Vascular Surgery.
Dr. Wain has been a member of the Winthrop Medical Staff since 2004, when he joined the team as an Attending Physician in Vascular Surgery. In 2006, he was named Clinical Director of the Vascular Laboratory.
With the recent opening of Winthrop’s new Vascular Surgery Facility at 200 Old Country Road, Suite 120, Dr. Wain is excited about the vast capabilities of the new space, which now offers patients the convenience of consultations, vascular testing and surgical procedures all under one roof. This setup maximizes the Hospital’s ability to provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnostic testing and treatment services at Winthrop. Dr. Wain will carry out the vision and provide leadership and growth with this new Center.

Board Certified in Vascular Surgery, Dr. Wain received his Medical Degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine. His training included a Residency in General Surgery at Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, NY, followed by a Fellowship in Vascular Surgery.
A sought after lecturer, published author and researcher, Dr. Wain has made vast contributions to the field. In 2014, Stony Brook University’s Department of Surgery recognized him with The Fabio Giron Teaching Award in Vascular Surgery for his outstanding contributions to the education of fellows, residents and medical students in the field of Vascular Surgery. Dr. Wain currently serves as an Associate Professor of Clinical Surgery at Stony Brook University’s School of Medicine.
