Mineola, NY – Paula and Brendan McGovern of Garden City are proud supporters of the Winthrop-University Hospital Child Life Program, and honored to be hosting this year’s Yuletide Ball. The elegant evening of fine dining, dancing and fundraising in support of the program will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 7:00 PM.
“Our family has been blessed to be on the receiving end of the amazing services offered by the Child Life Program at The Children’s Medical Center at Winthrop, and we look forward to welcoming the Garden City and Winthrop communities into our home to support this great cause,” said the McGoverns.
Thanks to the efforts of dedicated supporters in the community, Winthrop’s Yuletide Ball has raised more than $2.6 million in support of the Hospital’s Child Life Program, dedicated to helping children understand and cope with the hospital experience. Certified Child Life Specialists utilize therapeutic play, arts and crafts, entertainment and other diversions to ensure that the hospital experience is as stress-free as possible for children and their families.
