Mineola, NY – Winthrop-University Hospital is looking for a few good men and women… Are you interested in a rewarding opportunity to meet new people while helping to support a worthy cause? Winthrop-University Hospital, located at 259 First Street in Mineola, is currently recruiting Volunteers to work in the Hospital Gift Shop; at the Patient Information Desk; as Greeters in the Main Lobby; and within the Patient Buddy program, which connects volunteers with patients who wish to have a “buddy,” offering reading materials or cards, or just spending time at the bedside with them.

While enriching the lives of people as they interact, share and communicate with patients, visitors and staff, Winthrop’s Volunteers discover the challenge, joy and sense of well-being that is derived from helping others. As a member of Winthrop’s dynamic healthcare team, volunteers are respected, recognized and appreciated.

Interested adults (18 years of age and older) should call the Winthrop Volunteer Office at (516) 663-2391 between 7:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M., Monday through Friday for additional information.
