E. Ramone Segree, Vice President of Development at Winthrop-University Hospital, is pleased to announce the appointment of Merrick resident Lynn Drucker to Assistant Vice President of Annual and Major Gifts, as well as the appointment of Forest Hills resident Julie A. Kent to Director of Special Events.
“Philanthropic support is essential for a margin of excellence at a teaching hospital such as Winthrop and one whose core focus is community service and whose vision is taking it to national clinical, academic and research leadership,” said Mr. Segree. “These two staff leaders have demonstrated success in building this vital support and in these new roles will help to move the Hospital even closer to realizing its necessary vision.”
Lynn Drucker has spent her professional development career leading major gift initiatives, managing annual giving activities, and directing planned giving and capital campaigns. Since joining Winthrop in 2011 as the Director of Development, she has focused on major giving and expanding the Hospital’s network of support. In her new role, Ms. Drucker will continue to provide support and leadership for Winthrop’s annual fundraising activities and major giving initiatives, along with establishing organizational best practices for fundraising throughout the Hospital to maximize philanthropic revenue. In addition, working with members of the Hospital’s board of trustees, board of regents, medical staff and donors, Ms. Drucker will continue to expand the Hospital’s cultivation and stewardship activities, raising the bar for philanthropic support at Winthrop.
Julie A. Kent joined Winthrop in 2007 as the Associate Director of Development. Over the years, Ms. Kent has directed the Hospital’s largest annual fundraisers – the Gala and Golf Tournament – and has provided leadership for various other events and programs that have generated vital funds for Winthrop’s patient care programs, medical education and research initiatives. In her new role, Ms. Kent will continue to lead the special events fundraising initiatives for the Hospital, working in partnership with internal departments to centralize and consolidate this effort Hospital-wide. She will also expand her roll in stewardship among board members, donors and other special friends of Winthrop who are committed to helping the institution meet its present and future goals.
