December 8 Event Raises Pivotal Funds for Program Dedicated to Easing the Hospital Experience for Children
Mineola, NY — Every year, one special event brings community members together in a beautiful Garden City residence to raise funds for some of NYU Winthrop Hospital’s smallest patients. NYU Winthrop Hospital’s annual Yuletide Ball is an elegant evening of fine dining, dancing and fundraising in support of NYU Winthrop Hospital’s Child Life Program. This year, the event will be hosted by James and Kathy Connolly of Garden City on Saturday, December 8, at 7:00 PM.Garden City residents James and Kathy Connolly, hosts of NYU Winthrop’s 2018 Yuletide Ball.
“We have seen through our close friends how much of an impact the Child Life Program at NYU Winthrop has had on families at a time in their lives when it was needed most. We are so thankful for our own healthy children and feel blessed to be able to help others in any way we can” said the Connollys.
Since its inception, NYU Winthrop’s annual Yuletide Ball has raised more than $2.9 million in support of the Hospital’s Child Life Program. The program is dedicated to helping children understand and cope with the hospital experience. Certified Child Life Specialists utilize therapeutic play, arts and crafts, entertainment and other diversions to ensure that the hospital experience is as stress-free as possible for children and their families.
