2019 Womens Choice Award - Best Childrens Hospital | NYU Winthrop HospitalThe hospital recently earned 2019 Women’s Choice Awards in the following categories – America’s Best Hospitals for Obstetrics; America’s Best Hospitals for Heart Care; America’s Best Hospitals for Cancer Care; and America’s Best Breast Centers. What’s more, NYU Winthrop earned a 2019 Women’s Choice Award in the America’s Best Children’s Hospital category. These distinctions are the only evidence-based designations that identify the country’s best hospitals based on robust criteria regarding patient safety and care and what women say they want from a hospital.

NYU Winthrop is also a leader in stroke care. The Hospital recently received high honors from the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association with the Get With The Guidelines®-Stroke Gold-Plus Quality Achievement Award for meeting specific quality achievement measures for the diagnosis and treatment of stroke patients at a set level for a designated period. NYU Winthrop also received the Stroke Honor Roll - Elite Plus for meeting stroke quality measures that reduce the time between hospital arrival and treatment with the clot-buster tPA, the only drug approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to treat ischemic stroke. The Hospital also earned the Get With The Guidelines-Heart Failure: Silver Plus Achievement Award. This advanced level of recognition signifies the hospital’s commitment to ensuring heart failure patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines founded in the latest scientific evidence.
