Topic   Preeclampsia
Title   Participants needed for a Preeclampsia research study
Summary   The purpose of this research project is to evaluate an investigational test for the detection and management of preeclampsia.
Description   NYU Winthrop Hospital Clinical Trials Center is seeking research participants who are 18 years old or older; who are pregnant and between 28 and 37 weeks gestation and are interested in participating in a clinical trial. Participants will be asked to provide blood and urine sample(s) to be used to assess and /or validate tests that may be used to identify patients who have preeclampsia or to make sure they do not have it.
Preeclampsia is a high blood pressure disease of pregnancy and may affect many organs in your body. It usually occurs in the second half of pregnancy. Although high blood pressure is one finding present in women who have preeclampsia, not all patients who have high blood pressure in pregnancy actually have preeclampsia. Thus the need to find a test (or tests) that can be used to see if a patient like you has, or does not have, preeclampsia.
Eligible participants will receive study-related investigational laboratory tests at no cost to you. Reimbursement will also be provided for time and travel expenses.
