Once again, Local Foundation Garners Outstanding Support for NYU Winthrop

Terrie Magro, Co-Founder of the Michael Magro Foundation, with Edward Chewens, MBA, Vice President, Physician Practices and Ambulatory Network at NYU Winthrop.

It's been said that food brings people together, and in the case of the Michael Magro Foundation, established by Paul and Terrie Magro of Hicksville to honor the life of their son, Michael, and one of their highly anticipated annual fundraisers, this certainly stands true.

Over 500 guests recently gathered at The Carltun in Eisenhower Park to savor tables upon tables of gourmet fare from various Long Island businesses, all while raising funds for a worthy cause.

Paul Magro, Chef and Co-Founder of the Michael Magro Foundation, joins with Lisa Malikin, Associate Director of Faculty Practice for NYU Winthrop Pediatrics & Child Neurology, and Warren Rosenfeld, MD, NYU Winthrop's Chairman of Pediatrics, at the recent Annual Evening of Tasting and Giving.

This year's event boasted a live auction and a wealth of musical talent, including music by DJ Charles Henry, and world renowned pianist Philip Edward Fisher, accompanied by Dr. Louis Pannullo on the keyboard. Broadway stars Elizabeth Welch and Jeremy Stolle helped top off the evening's entertainment lineup with a magical performance from "Phantom of the Opera."

The Michael Magro Foundation's Annual Evening of Tasting and Giving once again demonstrated that when delicious food and good friends come together for a noble cause, anything is possible. The event was a great success, raising $73,000, part of which directly benefits pediatric patients and their families at NYU Winthrop.

Mark your calendars! The 2014 Annual Evening of Tasting and Giving will take place on October 6, 2014 at The Carltun.
