John D. Catalano Elected to NYU Winthrop’s Board of Directors

2.jpgThe Board of Directors of NYU Winthrop Hospital is a committed group of community and professional leaders who are charged with supporting the mission of the Hospital and setting the direction for its continued growth and expansion.

Recently, John D. Catalano, President and CEO of Catalano Enterprises, LLC, parent company of GarageTek and Catalano Consulting, was elected to NYU Winthrop’s Board of Directors. Mr. Catalano joins the devoted team of business and community leaders who contribute to the visionary leadership that influences the progression and success of NYU Winthrop’s high-quality, innovative healthcare services.

Mr. Catalano has a distinguished history in the healthcare field, having held leadership positions at New York University Langone Medical Center, The Hospital for Joint Diseases Orthopaedic Institute and NYU Winthrop Hospital over the years. Prior to launching Catalano Enterprises, LLC, in 2005, Mr. Catalano served as Senior Vice President and Market Head for Aetna, Inc., followed by Senior Vice President of Managed Care for New York University Hospital’s School of Medicine, where he managed all contracting for the $1.5 billion academic health system.

An active member of the community, Mr. Catalano has served on the Board of Directors for several organizations, including the Make-a-Wish Foundation of Metro New York and The Grenville Baker Boys and Girls Club. He also served as Chairman of the Board of Directors for The Heart Council of Long Island.

Mr. Catalano holds a Master of Public Administration degree from New York University’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, where he earned the prestigious honor of valedictorian for the class of 1989. Mr. Catalano also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Adelphi University and is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Mr. Catalano and his wife, Nancy, have two children, John and Michael.
