Local Kiwanis Club Continues Longtime Support

Stephen Parmett, Past President of the Kiwanis Club of County Seat, Mineola, and present board member of the organization, has been a longtime supporter of NYU Winthrop Hospital . From year to year, his feelings don’t change toward NYU Winthrop’s staff and the high-quality care they deliver each day.

“It’s the best pediatric depart- ment on Long Island,” said Mr. Parmett, who plans on sending his grandchildren to NYU Winthrop for pediatric care when necessary. “I’venevermetanyoneatWinthrop who wasn’t smiling and wanting to help people. My heart goes out to childrenfacingmedicalchallenges, and my passion is to help.”

Mr. Parmett, along with representatives from the Kiwanis Club County Seat, Mineola, visited the Hagedorn Pediatric Inpatient Center recently to present a check in the amount of $3,500 to once again show their support for the Child Life Program at NYU Winthrop, which is supported in its entirety by philanthropic contributions such as this one.

“The Kiwanis Club of County Seat, Mineola has had a long tradition of supporting the Children’s Medical Center at NYU Winthrop,” said Warren Rosenfeld, MD, Chairman of Pediatrics at NYU Winthrop. “Their contributions over the many years of support have helped the Children’s Medical Center to deliver the best of care to our patients and families. We greatly appreciate their hard work and generosity.”
