In celebration of 35 years of service to the community in providing diabetes education and support to individuals with diabetes and their families, NYU WinthropUniversity Hospital's Diabetes Education Center was pleased to host an interactive night of food, fun and fine dining with Celebrity Chef Tom Schaudel on March 10, 2014. With over 100 participants, the event, which was held at the Atrium at Jewel, featured an entertaining cooking demonstration along with a delicious three-course meal that included a roasted cauliflower appetizer followed by a pan seared salmon tostada with beans and mango salsa. Dessert included peaches with greek yogurt and lavender honey.

"Thirty-five years of service to our community is certainly a momentous milestone for NYU Winthrop's Diabetes Education Center, which was the first outpatient education program in New York State accredited by the national American Diabetes Association," said Lynne Chimon, MS, RD, BC-ADM, CDN, CDE, Director of NYU Winthrop's Diabetes Education Center. "We were pleased to partner with Chef Tom Schaudel on this event, which proved to be enjoyable and informative for all those in attendance."
