No matter how high-quality the care, every patient looks forward to going home following a hospital stay. Patients at NYU Winthrop who need continued care can return to the comfort of their home with the peace of mind that they will remain in the Hospital's excellent hands through NYU Winthrop’s Home Health Agency, which was recently named once again to the Top 500 of the 2016 HomeCare Elite®.

"The staff at NYU Winthrop's Home Health Agency takes pride in the excellent care they provide to our patients of all ages. The Homecare Elite award is a national recognition and testament to this outstanding care, which results in positive outcomes for our patients," said Anne Calvo, RN, BSN, MPS, Assistant Vice President – Home Health Agency at NYU Winthrop.

NYU Winthrop Named to the Top 500 of the 2016 Homecare Elite

To earn its place in the HomeCare Elite, NYU Winthrop was ranked, along with the other winners, by an analysis of publicly available performance measures in quality outcomes, best practice implementation, patient experience (Home Health CAHPS® - a survey to evaluate health care experiences), quality improvement and consistency, and financial performance. Additionally, in order to be considered, an agency must be Medicare-certified and have data for at least one outcome in Home Health Compare, which has information about the quality of care provided by Medicare-certified home health agencies throughout the nation. Out of 9,406 agencies considered, 2,353 are elite, with NYU Winthrop among the top 500.

The ranking is developed by ABILITY® Network, a leading information technology company helping providers and payers simplify the administrative and clinical complexities of healthcare, and sponsored by Decision Health.

"It is through our staff's clinical expertise, team approach to patient care, and dedication to continuous improvement that NYU Winthrop’s Home Health Agency continues to receive recognition," said Ms. Calvo. "This is truly an impressive accomplishment that speaks to our outstanding staff and the patient-centered care for which NYU Winthrop home care is known."
