nations most wired hospital Once again, NYU Winthrop Hospital has been recognized as one of the nation’s Most Wired Hospitals. This is the second consecutive year that NYU Winthrop has received this prestigious national designation from Hospitals & Health Networks magazine, upholding its rightful place in an elite group of hospitals that are using health information technology to improve patient care.

“NYU Winthrop is a pioneer in the use of technology to enhance patient care and safety, and it’s no surprise that we continue to lead the way for health information technology on Long Island and beyond,” said John F. Collins, NYU Winthrop’s President and CEO.

“On behalf of NYU Winthrop Hospital , we are honored to be recognized as one of the nation’s Most Wired Hospitals for the second year in a row,” added Nicholas Casabona, NYU Winthrop’s Chief Information Officer (CIO). “This prestigious recognition is a testament to the hard work and the collaborative mindset of our institution, which includes a progressive senior leadership team; a medical staff who truly understands the benefits of advanced health information technology; and one of the best technical teams in the industry whose commitment to patient safety and improved quality of care have made NYU Winthrop a healthcare IT trailblazer on Long Island.”

NYU Winthrop is a founding member of the E-Health Network of Long Island, the regional health information organization working toward interconnectivity with healthcare providers in other parts of the state (and ultimately nationwide) through compatible health information exchange systems.
