Cancer Center for Kids Benefits from Generous Hess Corporate Grant

hess corporation donationPresent at the check presentation were (l.-r.) Ashley Carlo, Development Specialist at NYU Winthrop’s Cancer Center for Kids (CCFK); Tim Connors, Sales Manager, Hess; Mark Weinblatt, MD, Chief of the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at NYU Winthrop and Director of the CCFK; Richard Locke, Senior Account Manager, Hess; Linda Sweeney, Pediatric Development Manager for the CCFK; and Joseph Sasala, Regional Sales Director, Hess.

The Cancer Center for Kids (CCFK) at NYU Winthrop was the fortunate beneficiary of more than $5,000 raised by the Hess Corporation at its Golf Outing this past summer. Motivated to give back to the Center because of a personal connection to a patient, Senior Sales Manager Robert Welch designated proceeds from the event to the CCFK and its essential therapeutic programs and services. With this donation, the Hess Corporation continues its tradition of generosity to the CCFK, having donated its world-renowned trucks to the Center’s patients for many years.

The CCFK’s psychosocial programs, a linchpin of the Center’s services, offer a wide variety of therapeutic services providing much-needed emotional support for children and families from the moment of diagnosis through intense treatments and long-term follow-up.

“Thanks to the friendship and philanthropy of the Hess Corporation, these programs can continue to flourish and grow,” said Linda Sweeney, Pediatric Development Manager for the CCFK.
