Kids Card Connection

Throughout the year, the talented young patients from The Cancer Center for Kids design holiday and greeting cards. The children’s original illustrations convey a message of warmth and good cheer. The proceeds from every card you buy benefit our programs and services.

Become A Volunteer

become a volunteer - NYU Winthrop Hospital“To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.” (Ralph Waldo Emerson)

At NYU Winthrop’s Cancer Center for Kids, volunteers are an integral part of our success story. Their efforts on behalf of our patients and their families support, encourage, and reinforce our multi-faceted programs and services.

Our family-centered delivery of care offers volunteers many exciting opportunities to make a difference, and to enhance our team’s expertise in areas as varied as child life, and the creative arts and horticultural therapy.

Whether it’s working on a fundraising event, helping to register runners for a walk-a-thon, or knitting blankets for our children, CCFK’s volunteers engage our patients and actively support our standard of excellence. They make our world a better place.

Bottles and Cans for CancerThe Cans for Cancer initiative started in 2001. To date the program is proud to include venues like Nikon Jones Beach Theater, Nassau Memorial Coliseum, Adelphi University, CVS, and Duck Stadium. Adelphi University Hospital

We are committed to increasing community awareness about the importance of recycling. To this end, we have recruited students at local colleges and high schools as volunteers in our recycling program. We know that when the community works together, everybody wins.
